Thoughts

My Last farewell to my Uncle John. Today I’ll say my last farewell, As you celebrate my life, Farewell to all that I once knew, My family, My wife. I’ll watch from high and see below, The outpouring of love, For the part of me that touched your heart, That you’ll miss now I’m above Please dry those tears of sadness, For I’m still by your side, And as long as you remember me, My soul will never die. Remember the things that made you smile, The things I used to say, The happy moments we have shared, We were blessed with along the way. There may be things that drove you mad, When your tolerance was low, But there the things you’ll miss the most, Now its time for me to go. If I could have one final word, That’s sure to resonate, I’d say cherish those that matter most, Before it is too late. Don’t cry for them when they are gone, Don’t shed a shallow tear, But give to them the gift of time, Each day throughout the year. Today we'll share my last farewell, And though it’s hard to go, In the silence of each waking dawn, There’s something you should know, My rays of love will shine on you, Each day your whole life through, Until its time to meet again, Goodbye, farewell, adieu.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
